Event Description

The third annual event, hosted by the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition, was held on Friday morning, April 10, 2009 at the Nampa Civic Center. Scores of individuals learned of and received training in various aspects of personal money management, such as budgeting, credit, investing, social security, home buying and home ownership, etc. They had 5 different classes each hour to choose from.

This year, we are also hosting a special day-long training meeting for teachers of Idaho's new "Mathematics of Personal Finance" class. After the welcome and keynote session, the teachers will join their trainers for a 9:00-5:00 meeting, which also includes a catered lunch, all made possible by the National Council on Economic Education through funding from the United States Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement.

Past keynote speakers include Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and KTRV Fox 12 Anchor Dan Hamilton. Fifteen focused break out learning sessions will be followed by some great raffle drawings (no purchase necessary). Attendees can also visit a number of great exhibitor booths. There's something for all ages, from teens to parents, from those caring for aging parents to those in their golden years.

Continental breakfast provided with RSVP.
