Piggy Bank Registration

REGISTRATION-TEACHERS AND PARENTS

Register during America Saves Week

Any children in an Idaho grade three through six may submit a homemade piggy bank (no larger than 12 x 12 x 12 inches in size, and able to hold change) at any participating members and contest sponsors from the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition. Participation is free, though students are restricted to one entry each. Students are also expected to be the main builders/creators of their piggy bank (which does not need to be in the form of a pig), with minimal assistance from parents, teachers or other adults.

Teachers and Parents! See the “Creating Your Pig” page for ideas about materials to use.

There will be four categories in which awards of a $150 contribution to start an Idaho College Savings account, provided by IDeal to the winning students. The four winning students will also be invited, along with their parent(s) and their teacher, to a ceremony at the Idaho Statehouse for the governor’s signing of a proclamation making April Financial Literacy Month in Idaho.

Finalist from each drop location will be judged by the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition membership at their annual business meeting in March. Winners will be notified and announced shortly thereafter and invited to the signing of the Financial Literacy Month proclamation in the statehouse (usually the end of March).
