The Coalition has also worked with the Idaho Digital Learning Academy to create a continuing education course on the topic of personal finance specifically designed for Idaho math teachers. This series of webinars is available through the IDLA. Contact the IDLA for scheduling and availability at (208) 342-0207 or idla@IdahoDigitalLearning.org.
2010
In 2010, the Idaho Financial Coalition provided $100 stipends to two Idaho teachers to enable them to attend the November 5-7, 2010 National Educators Conference in Washington DC, sponsored by the national Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. In 2009, the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition offered free personal finance training sessions for Idaho math teachers. These sessions, with a free lunch included, provided our high school math teachers with the vocabulary and principles of personal finance that will allow them to teach the new Mathematics of Personal Finance class, (new for fall of 2009), with confidence and comfort.
