The Coalition is also working with
the
Idaho Digital Learning Academy to create a continuing education
course on the topic of personal finance specifically designed for
Idaho math teachers. This series of webinars should be available
through the IDLA beginning fall 2010.
2009
In 2009, the
Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition offered free personal finance
training sessions for Idaho math teachers. These sessions,
with a free lunch included, provided our high school math
teachers with the vocabulary and principles of personal finance
that will allow them to teach the new Mathematics of
Personal Finance class, (new for fall of 2009), with
confidence and comfort.
Our facilitators have graciously made
their materials available for download. If you have been unable to
attend one of our training sessions, or if you would like a
refresher, here are the links:
Other Resources:
Our training sessions in 2009 are
made possible by a grant from the National Council on Economic Education through
funding from the United States Department of Education Office of
Innovation and Improvement.
Attendance is free, but
registration is required. Contact the coalition
president, Brandi Hawkins, at (208) 467-6583 or by email (idahoflc@yahoo.com)
for more information.
